When I first conceived of the Gospel Monologues, I saw them as something to do for Lent. Since Lent is six weeks long, I decided to write six monologues, each starting with the words, “Somebody told me about Jesus…”, with a different person doing one each through a pre-recorded video, which would be shown at each Sunday church service. I sent copies of the monologues to my vicar and he decided he would rather use them for the Thy Kingdom Come 10 day event leading up to Pentecost Sunday. His plan was to email every member of the congregation each day, and included in the email would be a link to that days’ video. This meant that four more monologues would have to be written and filmed. So here are two ways that these monologues can be used…the first 6 for Lent or the 10 for Thy Kingdom Come. You could also pick eight monologues and send out an email with a link for each day of Easter week from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday. How you use them is up to you.
So, on each of these monologue pages you will find the video I shot of the monologue which you can play in your church or email a link to your congregation, and a script that you can download if you want your own people to do a live performance.
